Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Sowwise (“we”, “us”) handles personal information collected through sowwise.site and when we communicate with organizations interested in our service. Questions: fatiu@sowwise.site.

Information we collect

• Pilot request and contact forms: name, work email, organization, organization type and size, approximate farmer numbers, languages, crops, plan of interest and your message.
• Submission context: the time of submission, the page you submitted from, the referring page and any campaign (UTM) parameters in the link you used.
• Analytics: if enabled, we use a privacy-focused analytics tool that counts page views and button clicks without cookies or cross-site tracking.

How we use it

• To respond to your request and assess fit for a pilot.
• To send a confirmation email and follow-up messages related to your enquiry.
• To understand which pages and messages are useful, in aggregate.

We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.

Where it is processed

Form submissions are processed and stored on Amazon Web Services (Amazon API Gateway, AWS Lambda, Amazon DynamoDB) and emails are sent with Amazon SES. Website hosting providers process standard request logs. These providers act on our instructions.

Retention

We keep enquiry records for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and any resulting relationship, and delete or anonymize records that are no longer needed. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under Nigeria’s NDPA, Kenya’s Data Protection Act or the GDPR, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the use of your personal information, and to complain to your data protection authority. Email fatiu@sowwise.site to make a request.

Farmer data in customer deployments

When an organization uses Sowwise with its farmers, that organization decides what farmer data is collected and why. We process that data on the organization’s behalf under a written agreement covering purpose, security and retention.

Security

We use encryption in transit and at rest and limit access to staff who need it. No system is completely secure, and we will notify affected parties of a breach as required by law.
